Trouble with using -PUBLISH command from command line

Trouble with using -PUBLISH command from command line

I'm trying to create multi-sheet PDFs for several different sets of dwg's by running -PUBLISH from a script.  I've already created the DSD files, and they work perfectly when using the publish command with a dialog box (I load the DSD, hit Publish, and it creates a PDF with all the correct settings).  However, when I use the same DSD's from the command line version of the publish command, it just displays the path and name of the destination PDF followed by: Errors found.

(eg. 'C:\Users\<username>\Documents\<filename>.pdf' : Errors found)

and does not create a PDF.

It doesn't say what "errors" were found, which makes it very difficult to fix the issue, especially considering that it works from the dialog box.

Hi,

>> it just displays the path and name of the destination

>> PDF followed by: Errors found.

Can you please let the process run (with BACKGROUNDPLOT disabled), then press <F2> to get the big command-line window, make sure it's big enough to see the complete command and parameter process and show that info ...

Hi Alfred,

I can't seem to attach a screenshot to this post, so I'll just copy and paste the text from my command line.

Command:
Command: BACKGROUNDPLOT
Enter new value for BACKGROUNDPLOT <0>:
Command: -PUBLISH
Enter name of sheet list <h:\!projects new="" nds\design="" drafting\piping\hui\pi-is\440.dsd="">:
'H:\!PROJECTS New NDS\Design Drafting\Piping\HUI\PI-IS\440\HUI-440-PI-IS REV0.pdf': Errors found</h:\!projects>

That is everything that appears on the command line when I enter the -PUBLISH command.

Hi Alfred,

The "!" is part of the actual name of the path.  I just copied the dsd file to another location and tried again.

Command: -PUBLISH
Enter name of sheet list <c:\users\rdoonan\documents\440.dsd>: C:\Users\rdoonan\Documents\440.dsd
'C:\Users\rdoonan\Documents\HUI-440-PI-IS REV0.pdf': Errors found</c:\users\rdoonan\documents\440.dsd>

Hi,

Are the dwg-files stored in the folder with "!" as part of the path?

Also please start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot from that dialog.

Yes the drawings were in the folder with "!" in the path.  I copied them to a new path and remade the dsd.  I tried -PUBLISH again with the same result.

Command: -PUBLISH
Enter name of sheet list <c:\users\rdoonan\documents\440.dsd>: C:\Users\rdoonan\Documents\440.dsd
'C:\Users\rdoonan\Documents\HUI-440-PI-IS REV0.pdf': Errors found</c:\users\rdoonan\documents\440.dsd>

Attaching screenshots isn't working for me, but here is the information from the _ABOUT command:

Product Version: P.162.0.0 AutoCAD 2019.1.2

Hi,

Ok, well done, but sorry to say, I don't have any ideas more now ... (I guess changing output-device in DSD/pagesetups is already tried, as well as restarting the workstation)

Hopefully someone else has suggestions!.

Sorry, - alfred -
