Trouble with PDF conversion in Acrobat tab

Hello,

We have been having an issue with our Title Block block. It worked fine for years and now all of a sudden when we either use the Create PDF in the Acrobat tab or use Export in the Output tab our Title Block information isn't correct. Everything looks fine in the Paper Space as far as the text that's entered but when it gets converted we end up with extra fields in some of the information and now our Page numbers aren't changing, e.g. 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc but we end up with all pages saying 1 of 4 and sometimes. If I open the pdf file and try to edit it there I end up with another problem. If I have, for example, a 4 page drawing and I change the last page to say 4 of 4 all of the sheets get changed to 4 of 4. I've edited the block in block editor to make sure the FIELDEVAL value is 31 and not 16. This worked for about 2 jobs and now it's back to doing the same annoying things. You can imagine this is #1, slow down our submittal process and #2 if we don't catch it it is embarrassing when your client catches it and rejects your submittals because they can't follow along on the sheet numbers. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this short of just creating a new title block our of frustration so if anybody can help I would be very grateful.

Thank you

Hi drileyPJ9YZ,

Try PDFSHX = 0

In AutoCAD 2016 SP1, this system variable was named EPDFSHX.

Thanks for the response Emilio. I tried that and changed the value to 0 but to no avail. Every page still says 1 of 4 when I convert it to a PDF. Thank you for trying though.

I had no issues when PDFing the drawing provided.

Note: The drawing only contained 3 sheet layouts  (See PDF).

That makes me think it could be something within Acrobat then. As when I do it I get extra fields and my page numbers aren't correct. However, when I export an Inventor file into a pdf I have no issues. I'm at a loss.

Notice in my attached pdf all the sheet numbers are 1 of 4 and in the Scale field on some of the sheets I end up with extra letters which is another field that somehow is getting in there which is NTS and I have been deleting that out through Acrobat edit command. At least now it's not reverting the sheet numbers back after I edit them in Acrobat. Just taking lots of extra time that I shouldn't have to be doing as I have lots of projects needing to be done.

Try using PUBLISH with PDF Preset to "DWG to PDF".

If it helps, also try turning OFF all the data options.

Also, try a repair on your Adobe - using the windows settings:

Valentin,

That worked. I've never used Publish before and it seems to take just a little bit longer but it produces the pdf with no issues. It takes a lot less time than having to edit everything in Acrobat.

So after publishing it I figured I would run a test by using the Output tab and Export: All Layouts, it worked fine now too. I tried the Acrobat tab and at least it didn't put in extra fields like it was doing but still labels all pages 1 of 4.

I think I will just use the Publish command from this point forward until I can investigate further as to why the Acrobat tab went corrupt. I've posted in their forum as well but it seems it takes a long time to get a response over there or sometimes you get no answer at all.

Thank you for all of your help today.
