Trouble with extending the base of my model

Hello AutoCAD Community,

I recently got my 3D printer and am working up dental models with Autodesk Meshmixer. I wanted to extend the base before I hollowed out each model, but it usually (9/10) shows a red outline where I’ve selected and does not let me transform the base. What I did was first generate face groups, then went to select and double clicked the base. It turned gold, but when I click transform/soft transform the following happened. Can anyone here please, please help me fix this major issue?
