Trim hatched array

I'm making blueprints for a small building and have added tiles to parts of a floor using hatched squares in an 7x4 array pattern. The array extends the limitation of the room and I need to trim it to stay inside, not interferring with walls or rooms

What is the easiest way to do this?

Hi and welcome to AutoCAD Forum,

the best practical way for that is to separate the blue hatch from the tiles lines. then you can trim your lines and when you finish trimming do the hatch procedure by drawing a polyline around the areas that need to hatch.

Have you thought of creating an array block to create your tiles? Would need to be exploded and trimmed for non-rectangular areas. See this post if it might work. An additional linear array would be needed for vertical stretch.

HI

Set the array to NO ASSOCIATIVE.

create polyline which area you want to erase.

Then use TRIM (TR) COMMAND to erase unwanted hatch OR WIPOUT (WIP) COMMAND to hide unwanted hatch.
