Trim command since new update

I have just recently updated to 2021 LT and cant for the life of me work out how to get the trim command to work like previous versions.

I used to selct everything with a rectangle but now it uses a line.

Can someone point me in the right direction to change it back please.

As it used to look

Current look

Edit: I found it after poosting this, the command is trimextendmode, mine was set to 1, so changed to 0 and all is good now.

it depends on the way that you work . while selecting what is your command line info appear ? can we have a screenshot for your TRIM command line history ?

Hi,

The TRIM command has been changed slightly. Now in 2021, there is no need for the user to select any object to trim as a default all the objects in the drawing canvas or whole drawing are selected for trimming. You just need to type in TRIM command and then trim the lines that's it.

Here is the link to the help section:TRIM

Here is something to read:https://www.cadlinecommunity.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360007742497-AutoCAD-2021-Enhancements-to-Trim-...

Hi Thanks for the post, yes if I change back to 1 it reverts to a line.....I have also looked at the other post and tbh I tend not to read the options on things ive use before....my bad i guess.

I have turned the extend mode back to 1 and then changed it in the trim mode back to standard 🙂

Thanks again
