Transparency not plotted when using Publish comand

Hello.

Something must have happened in my setup I'm not aware of. Since a few days ago, when I publish the drawing (8 sheets) it doesn't publish with transparent hatches, but when I PLOT each sheet independently, transparency shows just fine. My system is Windows 10 64 bit, AutoCAD 2020, latest updates installed.

This used to work just fine. I played with PLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE variable but it doesn't help, whether it's on 1 or 2.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thank you!

Hi,

I have tried a lot, installed 2020, 2022 and now I am working in 2023 on different computers and updated, changed settings for hatch from by layer to to manual buy nothing worked but I found another way around. It is working for me. instead of using only hatch I used hatch with bigger scale with same background color, like I used 255 for hatch and same for 255 so I when I have printed it comes fine.

I've tried all the other options PLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE etc to resolve this (that didn't work).

The following steps did work for me:

1) ensure you have Plot Transparency turned on in your page setup manager

2) select into the viewport and switch over to the viewport style you wish to plot with

3) select out of the viewport

4) select the viewport and for shade plot select as displayed

5) try publishing, it should now work.

Which PDF-plotter are you using?
I noted Bluebeam mentioned above.
In my experience both Blueabeam and Adobe PDF have issues with plotting lines correctly.
Have you tried DWG To PDF?

I'm here beacuse of another issue with transparency, but this intrigues me.
The alternative "Plot Transparency" is only available in the Plot dialogue.
I'm trying to batch plot by scripting with CADIUM (third party script manager application) but it seems there is no command line option to toggle this feature. It is only available through the plot setting spanel.

I wonder if regular Batch Plotting (Publish) also have issues with this setting?
One would suppose that the Page Setup rules wether Plot Transparence is active or not.
And with Publish you can set a page setup for each layout form another source (an active layout or another drawing-file).
If this page setup is chosen from a source where Plot Transparency is active, does it work then?

/Jim

I don't know if is what you did, but what solved my problem whas change the Hatch Pattern Scale in the hatchs. Apparently the high density of the hatch is not printed, so using a bigger scale allowed Autocad to print it.

Did you use the steps listed above? I just used them, and they were published with transparency. See attached PDFs
