Hello Forum!!

So, I have a beautiful table in excel.  Looks exactly the way I want it.   create a data link to it and the whole thing falls apart.   text in columns not centered,  brings in the wrong font...   any ideas the get things centered up and the correct font applied ?

Thanks!

Describe in detail your exact step by step method of linking it in AutoCAD.
Then post a few screenshots so we can see what you see.
Also let everyone know your exact AutoCAD version as listed in ABOUT command and your OS.

TIA

Try creating a table style first with the fonts you want to use and make it current. If it doesn't have to be linked, i'll do a paste special with AutoCad entities. The are always a few modifications that need to be done, thats the nature of the beast.

Just like there are text styles, dimension styles and multileader styles in a drawing file, there are also table styles.  When you paste form Excel, you are pasting your copied rows and columns into the default standard table style of AutoCad. You must establish your table style in AutoCad, not Excel. After pasting that standard table style to modelspace, you can apply your customized table style to that table.

AutoCAD table objects are not capable of accurately representing complex Excel spreadsheets.  If you don't find a solution to suit you and you were to consider third party software, take a look at DotSoft's XL2CAD.
