Toolbar outline trails

Fresh install of acad 2018 with update. when I drag a toolbar it leaves a white outline trail. Once I stop moving it, it goes away. Also autocad dosn't feel as snappy or quick to respond as it did prior to the reformat.

Driver is updated gtx980, installed latest updates, and hardware
acceleration is off. Restarted after everything was done, but still same
results.

Hi,

>> when I drag a toolbar it leaves a white outline trail. Once I stop moving it, it goes away

Please tell me: how often do you drag toolbars?

For me it does that too (just looked at it, seems to be depending on Windows 10 last update), but I never would have seen that as issue as you state "Once I stop moving it, it goes away" ==> then all is well and you can work, can't you?

That is where I am and it will work, I just get hung up on things that
aren’t working like they should. I had just updated to the fall creators
pac 1709 for Windows. And suspected that Was the cause.
Set and forget is workable, but I prefer to resolve any issues I come
across at the time.

Hi @Anonymous,

This is a known issue and the team is investigating the cause.  Here is an article that details the issue. The recommendation at this time is to roll back to build 1703.

Work around found, but not solved.. that will take an update or patch as it
is an issue with the newest windows 10 update.

This is a similar problem to me as well today. Is there already a permanent solution for this? Also experiencing this with REVIT.

Hi,

>> Is there already a permanent solution for this?

It's a Windows issue, you can see that with other applications (not just AutoCAD, not just Autodesk ones) too.

May I ask how often you move toolbars? For me that is not an issue, after moving a toolbar, when the toolbar is set to the new position you can work without issues.

HI @makmak9,

The latest Windows update fixed this problem for me. I have 1803 (OS Build 17134.1).  Can you check your WINVER and see if you need to get additional updates to correct the trailing issue?
