TEXTEDIT for Dimensions

There has to be something better than TEXTEDIT (ne DDEDIT) for editing dimensions in AC 2022.  Editing in place is not for me and I would like a dialog box editor like ddedit.   Please bring back DDEDIT.

Thank you

I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for but some options are

1. start textedit and select the dimension (or double click dimension), once edit in place started right click on the text and in the list go down to Editor Settings and select Show Toolbar.

2. set the variable MTEXTED to Oldeditor

Well, that kinda worked.  Nice to know how to turn on and off the header.  The Oldeditor value for MTEXTED does bring up the text in a box, although not a very good box.  It is similar to editing in place with the color the same as the text, except in a box.  I tried an external editor, EDITPAD, and it came up o.k.; however the current value of the variable was not in the box for editing.  Oldeditor is o.k. except for the color of the text.  I would like it to be black as in real dialog boxes.
