Text spacing changing when activating mtext editor

Text spacing changing when activating mtext editor

When activating a large selection of mtext which includes columns the text seems grow significantly. After close observation I've narrowed the difference down to line spacing (maybe). Please take a look at the two images side by side for a comparison. One shows the text before activating the mtexteditor and one after. The only thing I can do is to select all the text and remove all paragraph formatting. But this is not ideal because of all the complex numbering and indenting in the text. My hunch is that this text has been copied from a word doc into the mtext. If so are there any best practices or ideas out there that can help? Thanks

My guess would be to select the text, open properties, make sure the Line Space Style is set to exactly.

I'm not quite sure from your post... does the text stay changed after activating the editor or does it change back to the previous formatting?

Can you share the mtext with us or is it confidential?

Also maybe you could try changing the columns from 'dynamic' to 'static' or vice versa to see if it's the columns settings that are affecting your text

I created two paragraphs of text in Word and set the multiline spacing (a.k.a leading) to 1.0 for one of the paragraphs and 2.0 for the other.  I then pasted each paragraph into two different mtext objects in AutoCAD.  The properties panel shows the exact same values for both text strings except there is a sm2 in the paragraph text for the multiline 2.0 paragraph.  I could not edit this value in properties.  I was able to edit the value to sm1 in the dxf file and it changed the line spacing accordingly.

Check the "sm" value in the paragraph.

So I got the order reversed. When activating the mtext editor the text seams to "shrink" overall. Also to your question the text does not stay changed. It goes back to the original size after deactivating the mtext editor.
