Text Resolution Issue

Since we upgraded our Operation System from Windows 7 to Windows 10, some CAD users are experiencing unexpected Text/Font Resolution issues. Such as the text sizes in the Property Pallet are overly large compared to what it is supposed to be while in other cases such as opening layer manager or text editor they are unable to view the icons or text field. I have provided a screenshot to clarify what I am speaking about.

I am hoping that someone may know the cause of this issue and how to correct it. The strange part only a small percentage of users are having this issues while others do not. I originally thought it had to do with text resolution size because of implementing 4K LCD as our primary monitors but change the scale of the text but change the scaling did not correct the issue.

I am wondering if it may have to do with the fact that most users secondary screens are of lower resolution quality from the 4K monitors. Most people’s secondary monitor is 1920 x 1080 resolution.  Though I should note that all our CAD user has the same monitor set up and only a small percentage of them of experiencing this text resolution issue I have mentioned.

The version of AutoCAD we are using is currently AutoCAD 2016

This is a know issue with 4K monitor support prior to 2018. Dean Saadallah posted this link to help in previous posts: https://www.danantonielli.com/adobe-app-scaling-on-high-dpi-displays-fix/

Hi,

Either play with Windows DPI scaling or lower the resolution or change to AutoCAD 2017 or newer ... as starting with AutoCAD 2017 update 1 the support for 4K displays started.
