Help, how do I get the letters to become "normal" again

Check your Text font.

The command is STYLE.

Edit Text font that you want.

Hi,

does not look like text objects, more like a hatch.

When you select such an object and look to the property window ... does it say it's a text or a hatch?

If hatch you might change the pattern to "SOLID", but that does not give you a text object, it only looks like that.

Testing with TEXT not MTEXT, what font is set in Textstyle?

It could be a customize SHX Font
