Text Outside Align always rotates to the right

When I create a vertical dimension and then change the "Text Outside Align" property to "Off" the dimension always rotates clockwise. I've tried to mirror the dimension, rotating the text orientation, changing the Text View Direction, but the dimension always stays rotated clockwise. My only work-around is to explode the dimension and then mirror it, but I'd really rather not do that for obvious reasons. (Image attached) Am I missing something with a setting or is this a "bug" with AutoCAD. (I'm using vanilla ACAD 2024)

I've posted another image of the dimension text locations based on whether it's direction is up or down. If I mirror the dimension the text always flips to the right.

Sadly, not getting what you want is not necessarily a "bug", it is just a missed programming opportunity from the developer. Your choices today are limited to what you can find from the pulldowns below your "Text Outside Align" in PROPERTIES if you wish to see them all quickly.

Ask Autodesk to include it in future versions (it's not in 2025) here where they look for feedback
