Hi All

I assume this is a simple one to solve, some easy Autodesk karma points here.

please see below images.

sometimes when i click on text to edit it, the text editor takes up the whole screen.

I have found that turning the ribbon off stops this.

but there must be another way.

before dble clicking text

without clicking text on dimension.png

after double clicking text

It seems that you have a lot of text style, that is why the Ribbon expanded to accommodate all the text style available in your project.

If so, try turn off STYLE, by right click the mouse on the Style Panel > Show Panels > (Select) Style.

Hope this helps

is thread suggests exiting CAD or purging styles to fix the problem: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/autocad-2017-text-editor-changes-the-ribbon-size/td-p/6...

In this thread they suggest video card update or changing a setting that seems to not stick in registry : https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/ribbon-resized/td-p/6311931

I know this is an old post but replying as the offered solutions are different than the one I found.

To the right of the Text Editor tab is a dropdown menu. Open it and click on Minimize to Tabs.

I have not had much luck editing the ribbon visibility state via the CUI window however I've found a simpler solution to this issue.

Simply toggle the Panel Minimizer button until you get the desired visibility state:TextEditorRibbonToggleState.png

It's not a permanent fix but a 2-second temporary solution.

Let me know if this helps anyone.

Do you just need to turn this to ON in CUI command inside your active workspace

Or do you just need to use RIBBONCLOSE command https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-t...

or do you just need to use the pulldown option of your choice as you show in your screenshot, then use WSSAVE command to save that to your active or default workspace(s) and it stays like that forever and ever until you change it (or your add-on changes it or your CAD Manager's startup changes it or.... well, you get the picture).
