Tables imported from excel

When I import an excel sheet into AutoCAD using the >paste special>autocad entities in a table format,  the first line is always somewhat ok but the table leaves a leading space in the first column, before the first set of text which has to be manually deleted.  With rather large tables I have used data links although a client wants this particular table without the data link.  I have tried formatting the excel file text a number of different ways with the same results.

Any help would be appreciated.

If using a data link between Autocad and Excel gives you the desired result, why not use that method, and just detach the data link prior to sending the dwg to the client? Or am I missing something?

I use data links and data extractions in most of my dwg files, and simply detach/delete all of the links prior to sending out dwg's, making all tables static, and eliminating any missing or unresolved references/links issues before they happen.

Thanks for the help, as this was a solution that worked out for us.  Although the formatting in excel doesn't always translate over the AutoCAD very well.

Glad it worked. You may need to look at how your table style is formatted. Also options in data link dialog box- attached is what I use, and unless I change the excel table formatting down the line, all I have to do is adjust column/row sizes in the dwg table.

Also look into using >named ranges<  in Excel to link your table to. Makes things work lots better.
