When I try to select a table the preselection and selection is so huge I can't edit the table or drawing. Any ideas?

I cannot replicate it in paperspace with a sample table: is there something else about the table in question?

I couldnʻt replicate your issue as well, do you mind sharing a bit more information.

A sample file?

Anything like this happen with other DWGs or is it with all DWGs?

Did this happen with previous releases?

`thanks @pendean @Emmsleys. Here is the sample dwg, which comes from a dwt we're using for a project.

The table is data linked to an excel file (which I've been able to update, but it would be nice to know what setting is causing this)

this did not occur in previous versions, but I was using 2013LT before and copy/pasting out of excel vice setting a range/datalinking...still the table didn't act funny when pre/selected.

thanks

Looks like your table has a properties setting for colored cells: is your Excel spreadsheet colored up?
If I remove all formatting from your table (right-click and do this on your own to see) it loses it's shape because it defers back to your TABLESTYLE setting in your DWG but the color problem goes away.

@Anonymous

I was able to reproduce your issue as well. I went ahead and did the following to your DWG file afterwards;

File Clean

  • Recover
  • -PU > Reg Apps
  • -PU > All
  • PU > all nested
  • Audit

Paperspace

  • Selected a table
  • Removed all property overrides

Once the property overrides were removed the table was selected and it did not look like the image you provided.

I have attached a screencast below along with your file. After running the steps above you will see that the table is not visually appealing. You'll need to do some leg work into getting it back to the shape you want but at least we were able to narrow it down to the property overrides.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
