Table Scaling Question

Hello,

I need help with the scale and/or align function in AutoCAD.  The goal is to get my table to become exactly like the size of the drawn rectangle to the right.  I have tried to resize using grips, however it does not scale the text.

I have tried using the scale and align commands in AutoCAD, but I can only get one side of the table to be the same length of one side of the rectangle.

File attached, thanks!

Fitting a truck into a donut hole is not easy 🙂

Your text style and size is defined in your TABLESTYLE and STYLE commands (depends on how you set it up). Do you need to actually fix your TABLESTYLE definitions first?

If you really and truly don't care about yourtext size, is there a reason you don't just use SCALE command then just stretch it with grips? Like this

Or just set up a viewport in paper space to the size and scale you want.

Just tried your method and I can deal with the text size changes.

At the moment, I have the table inside the rectangle.

The problem is the table I created is from an excel sheet on a data link.  So, whenever I try to add a row in my linked excel sheet, the table in AutoCAD

becomes "unscaled" and gets bigger than the drawn rectangle.  The drawn rectangle in the file attached before was the size of my viewport.

The goal is to get the table to be the size of the drawn rectangle (viewport) that can also allow me to make rows and columns without changing the table size drastically.

The solution I tried doing is making another drawn rectangle inside my viewport rectangle.  That way, if I do add another row or column, it will still be inside in the viewport.  But after scaling the table to fit the rectangle, and then adding another row in my linked excel sheet, it grows bigger than the viewport anyway.  It seems like it reversing back to the "unscaled" state.  (picture below)

Apologies for the confusing explanation.

Try using the command "ER" (external references). In the dialogue window, select the table and right click it. Select detach. Now you can add lines to the table without drastically altering the overall dimensions. However, beware that this method means that your table is no longer attached to the DXE file, so any updates made to that file will not be reflected in the table's contents.
