Table "Repeat top labels"

The "Repeat top labels" option will not work for my table.

It will work for a new table I insert, but not for my existing one.

Problem since at least 2012 apparently.

I really don't want to copy/paste every cell contents to a new table. Can anyone think of a workaround here?

Thanks.

Did you manage to find a workaround?

Just taking a shot in the dark because I don't have a file to test this on but would exporting the table to excel and then re-importing it give you the option to repeat the top label?

@Mike_Hurtado thanks for your help on this. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, just now I got a chance to try out your suggestion.

I assume the import you mean is this method?

Unfortunately, this did not help. The new table created from the paste special command still does not repeat the top labels.

Also even if it did, this method is unworkable in reality. The resultant table lost text and reformatted everything so bizarrely that it is complete garbage.

Here's my original table:

Table-before.PNG

And here it is after export to Excel and paste special as CAD entities:

Table-after.PNG

Apparently the line-breaks within a cell cause a confusion with this import method. Would that be what's causing all those empty cells at the end?

Any other ideas out there? Or did I use the wrong import method?

Thanks.

Now it won't even work for a new table I create from scratch.

It will either repeat the top two rows, or none at all. I can't get it to just repeat one row.

Repeating the Header row appears to be driven by what you have set for the Header Style for that Table Style. You will want the cell style set to "By Row/Column", select the top row and set it to "Header". Of course, make sure Repeat Top Labels is set to "yes" for the table.
If it still isn't working then check under Table Style and make sure Headers is set to "label" and not "data".

Make sure "Column style" is set to "(none)" for all cells.

Also, in properties, even if you set the cell style to header or title you still have to set the row style to the same.  Similar to unlocking.  Unlock the table then unlock the cell.

This worked for me all my rows was data including the top row. Changed row style to header in properties panel and, that was it now it works fine.
