System Variables

I am facing an issue with system variables in Autocad that they keep changing by their own sometimes after restarting the pc and maybe after restarting the Autocad only.

After doing a lot of search I found that 2 files on my pc responsible for system variables  "sysvdlg.arx" & "sysvdlg.dat"

Hint: Values in "acaduser.lsp" like the startup mode even after changing the values in this file not solving my problem

I wanted to ask if the first 2 files will solve my problem or not because I need to ask the IT Department in my company for administrator approval to apply any changes.

Check my attached screenshots as well.

Thanks for support.

These two files are not part of the core product, they are files for the EXPRESSTOOLS tool SysVdlg.

If talk about two variables and you don't know.

How can we help without to know which variables you talking about?

1. Which variables?

2. How do you start Autocad (in case where the variable values changes)

Perhaps you talk about DRAWING stored variables, so the value can change by file.

More informations are welcome to solve YOUR problem.

Good Day Betreff,

The variables are {STARTMODE - STARTUP - DIMSCALE}

1) Drawing1"Blank Drawing" always appear every time i start using Autocad

2) Start window always appear as well

3) DIMSCALE for the same drawing also changing even I am not using annotative objects

I tried to change the variables responsible for those actions but they keep changing automatically from their own.

Thanks for your support Betreff.

Which Version, AutoCAD 2016 SP1? _Vernum M.107.*:* ? Command: ABOUT

How do you start the program if you are testing for these problems?

Close AutoCAD(s)

Re-open AutoCAD by this way (edit the filepath if needed)

[WIN]+[R]

Open: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\acad.exe" /safemode

set _STARTMODE to 0

set _STARTUP to 2

Command: _ACDCLOSE

close the file, start a new file or reopen an existing file, check the setting again

Startmode is 0 ?

Startup is 2 ?

OK, close AutoCAD

Re-open AutoCAD by this way (edit the filepath if needed)

[WIN]+[R]

Open: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\acad.exe" /safemode

How it looks now?

Hi,

>> before restarting the pc but after that the variables changed again.

Sounds like you have Windows server based profiles or a login script that resets your AutoCAD profile.

Ask your admin if (and why) they are doing that.
