Survey Points to Mesh

Hi All,

I have a topographical survey that I am trying to make in to a mesh for importing into another software. A colleague of mine believes he turned the "points (Yellow Crosses)" into the blue mesh that you see on the picture below, but he has forgotten how he did it.

does anyone know a way to replicate what is shown on screen? when selected Autocad calls this mesh a "AcadProxyEntity" in properties.

Additionally if anyone knows a quick way to place points & not have to manually enter the height but can take it from the text next to it please let me know.

Normally we ask for complete 3D dwg topo's but we have a couple of project where the topo's are just 2D.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks

but he has forgotten how he did it. 😃

It was done with program other than plain Autocad, more likely by Civil 3d

Ask that group, they can help you.

That was my thoughts, I am trying to avoid using civils 3D as the software I am trying to import into can read the values from point data (x, y & z values) from txt files exported through "dataextraction" but can be unreliable.

So if I can create the mesh inside Autocad I can import it in using a different method in Archicad, which seems to work more often than not.

"...when selected Autocad calls this mesh a "AcadProxyEntity" in properties. .." the program is telling you what you want is not from plain AutoCAD, most likely Civil3D. Or a 3rd party add-on with custom objects.

Have you seen this tip https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/adding-a-mesh-surface-to-imported-autocad-3d-points/td...

If your trying to avoid using Civil 3D, check out the GeoMESH from the Autodesk App Store:

Also, read this link to know why the Proxy Information is showing on screen.

Thanks for this, I took the dwg and can import it in as expected. Was this generated from the point values in the dwg? The mesh in the original file works fine, I just need to know how to generate it from the point values for the topo's that only have the points in.
