Stuttering Scroll Wheel

Both my equipment and me are getting older.

My Mouse's Scroll Wheel is set so that if pushed-&-held down, I can Pan.

The trouble is, lately, either my finger stutters or the wheel breaks contact.

I hold it down, pan, and then release and then instead of stopping the pan, the mouse thinks I Doubled-Clicked and the view zooms to extents.

Then I have to Zoom Previous to get back to my last view; sometimes several times is necessary.

MY QUEESTION is: how do I un-program the Double-Click on the Scroll Wheel. I don't need any Double-Click command of the Scroll Wheel.

how about changing your old mouse with a new one ... isn't worth ? 🙂

You may have missed the fact that I was trying to blame the Mouse, when it really is that I am getting old and shacky.

Not only would a new mouse NOT solve the problem, but, it would take time programming the mouse.

So, back to the original question.

How do I un-program the Double click of the Scroll Wheel?

Hi @Anonymous,

I assume you have looked at your Windows mouse driver control panel to see if you can disable it there.

Try setting MButtonPan =0 to see if that works for you.

Upon John's suggestion, I went to Windows Control Panel, but, there I see 8 options.

I tried "Hardware and Sound", but found no mention of the Mouse.

Am I near the right place?

Well, being less timid, I went back, as John had suggested, to the Windows Control Panel and tried "Hardware and Sound".

Then "Devices and Printers", then the Mouse.

Right-Clicking the Mouse Icon takes me to the Mouse Properties.

Once there, I picked the "Double-click Speed and set it as high as it will go.

That seems to disable the Double-click going to Zoom Extents.

[That does carry the potential risk that in AutoCAD and  other applications, depending on which direction "high" means, either the left-click pick button will register as a double-click at times when that was not what you intended, or you won't be able to double-click fast enough when that is  what you intended....]
