Strange white lines around my thick lines in MS only in one drawing

Strange white lines around my thick lines in MS only in one drawing

I have no idea how this problem occured.

I was literally working in AutoCAD when I opened my UI changed.

Everything I highlighted for some reason was now dashed, highlighted objects did not glow, everything had an extra line thiness and super pixilated feel.  So I closed out, restarted my CAD & my computer and that one file still had these issues.  Even worse, suddenly all of my lines that had a thicker global thickness than standard were suddenly outlined?!

It's filled - see my screenshot below.

The line is filled.

It's a poly line yes, but even exploded it doesn't change anything.

It's still outlined in white.

Only one file, I don't know why.

Running a purge & audit didn't fix it either and it's only my computer.  Coworker's computer?  No issue.  Other files in MS?  No issue.

I cannot select the lines.  I cannot just redraw them either.  I checked the layers, no issues.

So I reset my AutoCAD, upset, to default settings via the start menu option thinking it would help, nope.  Same issue.  Same file. Highlights back to normal, but this file, this stupid stupid file.

I think my CAD is haunted.  This isn't my first experience with strange white lines in my autoCAD.

Please help.

It's killing me.

your UCS is rotated: is that deliberate?

Not to my knowledge.

Looks like it's oriented how it should be and matches all of my other drawings.

I reset my UCS however as well as double-checking that I am indeed not in 3D/at Parallel and the white lines still have not vanished.

Is this a problem in ALL of your files? Can you post a DWG with the issue already zoomed to the object in question?

Unfortunately, no.  It's a work file, but it wouldn't matter much regardless.  My coworker opened the file from his computer and didn't have that issue.  It is only the one file that has that issue.  I'm currently working fine on other files right now but that one particular one, just on my computer, is having an issue.

I saved a copy of the file with the error in question only however, but again, I'm not sure if it will show up since it has only been on my computer so far.

INSERT the problem file into a working-just-fine empty template file, EXPLODE and verify it's gone. Then move on with a quick SAVEAS and call it a day 🙂

Hi @Anonymous,

This sounds like it is a Visual Style issue. I opened the sample file, changed to 2d Wireframe and everything looks normal.

If I am misunderstanding the problem please let me know. If you would like to share the file with me privately, please let me know and I can provide a means to get it to me.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

They're off already.

Unless I'm missing something?

I mean, yes, this worked so it's kind of a solution?

However, I backed up the mystery white line outline file just because I still have absolutely no idea how this occurred or how to remedy it so I don't have to re-save a new file with copied over information.

So still no real solution? But at least this helped!
