I'm using AutoCAD LT 2019 and recently the ability to start a new line a specific distance from a point stopped working... by that i mean that when i hover over a snap point (i.e. intersection) and move cursor in direction of new line and type in distance i need the new starting point is either no where close or it's where i'm trying to inference from..???

I don't have the solution for your exact question but for the time being refer to this (TRACKING)

For example lets say you want to draw a line from a specific snap point at a specific distance

  1. Line(Enter)
  2. TK(Enter)
  3. Click on the snap point you want to track and move the cursor in the direction which you want the offset to
  4. press Enter

That's it

The solution in the link provided earlier comes down to - dock the command line.  Known bug.

Yes, as @GrantsPirate stated. . .it's a bug that should resolve itself once the command line is docked.  However, if you prefer to not dock your command line then I suggest using the tracking tool recommended by @S.Faris.

I just put this short Screencast together for a client.  I reiterates @S.Faris's suggestion, just in video format.  I hope it helps you as well.

Nope, docking the command line doesn't help, super frustrating!
