SSM Model View List - Disappearing Views

This has happened so frequently, I am desperate for an answer.

We have no problem creating named sheet views in model space and then placing those views in paper space with label blocks containing linked fields.  It works great.

However, mid-project, sheet view names in the navigation tree will simply disappear, and the label blocks associated with them are replaced with #######.

Any ideas ?

Hi @legrand_design,

I confess that i have not seen this before although I don't personally use this feature very often.  Have you checked the drawing where the view was created to see if there is any corruption?

Where do you store the files? Is it possible that the drawing containing the view was not accessible at some point?

Which specific version of AutoCAD are you using and can you share a sample dataset with me?

Thanks for being willing to help:

Our zipped data file is attached, including a DST file for the project.

Briefly...

1) There are two sheet layouts shown in the SSM Sheet List Tab
A1.01 - BUILDING 100 DEMO FLOOR PLAN AND FLOOR PLAN
A1.03 - BUILDING 100 DEMO CEILING PLAN AND REFLECTED CEILING PLAN

2) Both drawings pull from a single Xref base drawing, titled 1810.10 BUILDING 100 BASE, which is shown in the SSM Model Views Tab

3) That base drawing contains four named views:
         BUILDING 100 DEMO FLOOR PLAN
         BUILDING 100 FLOOR PLAN
BUILDING 100 DEMO REFLECTED CEILING PLAN
         BUILDING 100 REFLECTED CEILING PLAN

4) The last two named views are not acknowledged by SSM, although they were originally.  You will not see them listed in the

     SSM Sheet Views Tab.

5) Subsequently, the label blocks in A1.03 - BUILDING 100 DEMO CEILING PLAN AND REFLECTED CEILING PLAN have been replaced by #####.

6) Those label blocks in A1.03 should read BUILDING 100 DEMO REFLECTED CEILING PLAN on the top and BUILDING 100 REFLECTED CEILING

     PLAN on the bottom.

7) Since SSM doesn't acknowledge the named views, it is impossible to repair the label blocks.

I hope this makes sense.  We don't understand why these views disappear, mid-project.

Thanks again.

Have you used our app SSMPropEditor? We have had a bug causing something similar as what you describe.

Thank you.  No we haven't, but we will definitely look into it.

Coincidentally, I was studying your SSM Code Snippets.

We do extensive VBA programming within AutoCAD, and wanted to understand the SSM API.

HI @legrand_design,

Thanks for the files. I am looking at them to see if there is a way to repair the views  but while i do so,m I thought I should mention that your base file did have 4 Audit errors and a bunch of regapps that were purgable.  This might be the root cause of this issue.

I noticed that if I re-place the model views in the A1.03 file then everything works again.

We have audited our drawings and purged the regapps per your suggestion.  Thank you.

I am curious how regapps become embedded in the drawing in the first place (??)

None of them were recognizable to me.

Yes, we are aware that we can replace the model views, but that is the time-consuming process we want to avoid.

Also, one curious thing.  If a viewport references a named model view, and is associated with a fielded label, and if the viewport is mistakenly erased but immediately "oops'd" back in, all field data is permanently destroyed, and the named view is not retrievable in SSM.
