Specific file occasionally locks

I have a client with an issue with one specific file. It will occasionally lock itself, and can only be opened as read-only. The file itself is not marked as 'Read-only' in Windows, the file works in literally any other location (local and server) and file name, there are no .dwl or .dwl2 files, it's not open anywhere (confirmed under Open Sessions in Computer Management on the server). They have copied, deleted the original, and replaced the file a few times and still nothing.

The issue goes away for a few days, then locks up again for a few days. I don't know all of the details around when it locks up, but I know it's been happening for a while. My guess at this point is one person in particular is causing the issue, but I don't know enough about it to figure out what is actually causing it to lock up.

I'm currently going over the knowledgebase article regarding this issue, but it hasn't proved useful so far. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to figure out why it keeps locking? Or how to prevent it in the future?

Thanks!

Michael

Have the user use WHOHAS command to find out more about it next time they encounter the issue https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/AutoC...

Otherwise... file locking is done at the OS level (the one on their PC) based on conditions at the file or file's folder or drive that flag it to be on. Nothing in the program is designed to counter that.

Would the WHOHAS command also work when the file is opened as Read Only?
