Solid Hatch not Plotting Solid?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Having an issue with solid hatch ACAD 2019.

Some of the solid hatches are printing fine, some are getting cut off?

Everything looks fine in model space and on print preview, and everything comes out properly when printed to pdf. Even when printed from pdf, hatch issue is recurring on certain items?

I've included the pdf, a stripped dwg of seal and company info, and a photos of final print problem.
I save as pdf then print to 11x17 at 50%0715191146a.jpg0715191146b.jpg0715191146c.jpg

I downloaded a copy of the DWG and PDF and attempted to replicate the inconsistent output issues you have identified and no luck. All the outputs either from CAD or PDF plotted correctly and also appeared correctly on screen. This leads me to believe it's a workstation/install setting or config that is causing the issue and not the actual CAD drawing itself.

A few things to consider/try:

  • Consider using a block for your valve symbol and also adjust the 'Set Origin' for the hatch to a point closer to the valve itself. The hatch origin sometimes can mess with hatch appearance but usually its something visible on screen also. This would be my first item to check....
  • Test print the DWG or PDF to a different printer and review the results. Confirm that the printer settings are 'as intended' and nothing strange is going on there.
  • Get another colleague to print the DWG and PDF from his/her machines and review the results. Sometimes strange output issues are isolated to a single workstation.
  • Try printing the DWG to DWF first, than to PDF - may help determine if the issue is a DWG to PDF issue specifically. Also try to print the PDF as 'print as image' with your printing software - essentially changes the vector based PDF information to a raster based PDF. You can also try the DWG to PDF, then open the PDF and re-save as a PDF again, or print the PDF to PDF and test results.

Using the approach (process of elimination) you should be able to narrow down the issue and ultimately identity a solution. Good luck determining a solution for this issue - please respond back and provide an update!

Hello @Anonymous,

I tested your drawing with a default acad.ctb file used DWG to PDF.pc3 & the solid hatch printed out properly.

Please try using a default ctb & pc3 to plot to PDF to test it out.
