Snapping in 3d objects not working

I just came across a problem that whenever i try to snap a 3d object, only some certain places in object gets snap and the place where i wanna snap is not getting snapped. I know it must be a simple one but i had been breaking my head around in order to find a solution for this.

Image corresponding to the above mentioned is attached with and the place were i wanna snap in my object is highlighted with red circle.

use 3DOSNAP command to select object snap mode then turn it on by (F4).
