Slice 3D object on Array

I am just wondering if there is a way to slice a 3D object on an array meaning = slice it along a path at a determined interval. I like to do this for different design features at times, but have been doing it the long way. I have included a simple donut and planer objects that were created on an associative array, then I exploded them trying to figure it out.
