Simplex.ttf font not showing in AutoCAD2015

I am trying to use the true type version of the simplex font. I have linstalled the font, which I beleive simplex.ttf is already installed with windows, and can not seem to get it to show as a selection under styles or fonts in autoCAD. All it shows is the simplex.shx version. I have confirmed that it is installed by opening ms word to see if it is a selection option under fonts. It is and listed has TT next to it. The reason for doing this is to make a pdf file that the text is searchable. SHX fonts are not searchable in a pdf file from AutoCAD 2015, but .TTF fonts are. At least this is what I have found out. I have even went into the options and set a path for support files and folders to the c:\windows\font folder with no luck. I have restarted the application. Any advice or thoughts on how to get this to work work be great.

simplex.shx appears to be a on-demand generated alternate font when references to fonts in your drawing cannot be resolved e.g. when font files are not installed or the windows fonts folder is blocked (which can happen with windows 10 security update bugs).

You won't find the simplex.shx file like other fonts in your autocad fonts folder.

However you will be able to find the temporary simplex.shx file in system caches during autocad edit of your drawing.

The Autocad simplex font is the only embedded font in your drawing by design.

It does not depend on files in the autocad fonts folder.

SO be aware when you use any other font in any version of Autocad, autocad should be able to find the physical font file either .shx or .ttf on the computer.

This is our experience with Autocad LT 2017 on a WIndows 10 Pro PC.

I changed some parameter of simplex.ttf font and create to new font called "simplextechnical", all characters are total same simplex font.

you just install it and chose simplextechnical font in autoCad
