Simple linetype (.lin) with lines and slashes

Is it possible to make a simple linetype (.lin) with lines and slashes "/". I don't want it to include a shape file because this means it has to be loaded into everyones autocad and/or dwg's.

I believe the sequence would be

*SLASH,Slash ____//____//____//____//____//_
A,.5,-.2,["//",STANDARD,S=.1,U=0.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.05],-.25

However the "/" do not appear.

Thanks for the help!

They do for me:

What is the font assigned to your STANDARD Text Style?  And does that Style have a fixed height?  It should have a defined height of 0 if it's to be used in a linetype definition.

EDIT:  The above image is with ARIAL.ttf as the assigned font [the default in newer versions].  Here's what it looks like with TXT.shx [the default in older versions]:

Glad to see it works for someone!

My standard text style does not have an assigned text height.

I have also attached a picture of what the linetype looks like

I tested it in a new dwg and it worked so I'll have to assess the reasonings why its not working in my other drawing. Thanks for your help @Kent1Cooper
