SheetSet Manager attributes not printing

I have attached a template file in which I have defined attributes such as the sheet number.  These attributes do not print out.  Cannot figure it out.

1. No error found in my System.

2. Update AutoCAD,  Select a Version available Click here

3. Run the Attsync command, update any existing blocks in the drawing

4. system variable ATTMODE has been set to 1

5. Text in Block Attributes not visible in the drawing Click here

6. How to create a new "DWG to PDF.pc3" driver in AutoCAD Click here

Good morning... so I took a look at your template and unless I am seeing something incorrectly, the attributes you defined are not using Sheet Set Manager fields.

For Sheet Set Manager to work, you need to not only define an attribute (or text entity), but also add a 'field' to that attribute/mtext. Fielded attribute "link" the text to the Sheet Set Manager DST file. Let me explain - once you have added in Sheet Set Fields to all title block annotation, you then need to ensure the Sheet Set DST file also contains the same custom fields (i.e.: the Custom Property Name). You have to 100% be sure that whatever you named the custom property names in each field, correspond to the custom properties that you add to your DST file. If the names are not exactly the same, the information will not populate.

This may be why you are not seeing information printing as indented, because the Sheet Set Fields do not seem to be setup, and without that, the DST file cannot communicate to the sheet border/title block.

There are some EXCELLENT documents on the Autodesk Knowledge Network, check out the Mastering AutoCAD's Sheet Set Manager..... The link is below....

I am really having a hard time with this.  Can you take my file and setup a few of the attributes such that they update through the sheet set like the current sheet number and total sheet number?

I took a few minutes and added some Sheet Set Fields to one of the tabs within your Template file. The template I updated - use the link below to access.

Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. You need to add these custom fields to your DST file as well, to create the 'link' between the Sheet Set Manager and the Sheet Borders/Title Blocks.

Fields Used:

  • CurrentSheetCustom (or CurrentSheetSetCustom, as required)
  • CurrentSheetNumber
  • CTAB - used to populate the layout tab name into the drawing number attribute, useful if you are using multi-layout tabs per drawing but want to insert the layout tab name into the Title Block vs. repeating the drawing's file name.

I have a class recording from Autodesk University 2018 where I discussed 6 Sheet Set Strategies for Success. Part of the class recording (and handout) overviews the use of Fields. Definitely take a look at that class if you are interested - link is below:
