Sheet List Table Multi-Sheet Split

Is it possible to split the sheet list table onto multiple sheets without breaking the internal datalink that allows it to update? I tried moving it to model space or using an xref but to no avail. The only practical way I've seen is to 'explode' the table and cut and paste. But then, every minor update leads to a reset from scratch. Thanks.

Assuming you’re following these instructions to place a sheet index table in Model https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-AF75182F-F6B0-4AEC-BBC1-5B82483160CA

Then you should be able to xref this into any other drawing. Any changes with the original table all xrefs should update. Then you can xclip the xref and copy the xref and xclip that copy as well. Or you can go to layout and create different size vports to only show the sections of the table you want

When we have a large project that requires more than one sheet to hold the sheet index, we simply break it into two SSM subsets. The first subset goes on the first index sheet, the second subset of drawings goes on the second sheet.

If you have to add sheets in the middle along the way you just drag sheets back and forth between subsets as needed. They're both still able to be updated via data link.

I tried inserting into Model space but "insert sheet list table" is greyed out. I tried pasting it in Model space but it won't update after that. I tried putting it on an xref sheet but it is greyed out if the sheet is not in the sheet set. Any suggestion to work around this would be appreciated.  Thank you.

@tofique.ghalayini "greyed out" means the information you are seeking from a tool in AutoCAD does not exist.

Is your SheetSet locked? Not updating? on a cloud server that is offline? Something else?

I don't think so. My thought is that it's not simply because the Model space and other sheet are not explicitly part of the sheet set.

Correct @tofique.ghalayini
"sheet" is a paperspace layout in AutoCAD.
"model" is not a "sheet" by its nature in AutoCAD.
We end users cannot change these tabs' behavior.

As far as I've ever seen it's not possible to insert a sheet list table into a model space view. It has to be dropped onto a paperspace/layout tab view.
