Hello,

I just got 2017 LT. How do you add sheet tabs in paper space?

I see that the sheet tabs have been moved and reconfigured, but I can't figure out how to add a sheet under the new system.

thank you,

Josh

Hi @Anonymous,

The layout tabs have been around for quite some time. I still suggest that you perform a reset to see if the remedies the issue. (See post 18)

I'll try. By the way this is what the bottom of my screen looks like now. Better but still doesn't get me where I need to go.

Oh, and yes I know the layout tabs have been around for some time. I use them all the time. But it seems they have changed the way they work. But I'll try to reset like you said and see if I have any luck. thanks.

John, I restored to default setting but nothing seemed to change.

Frankly I think I should be able to work with the screen I have now but I can't figure out how to add a new drawing tab, and name it.

This screenshot shows what I get after I click the + to add a tab. As you can see I'm now on Layout 17 as I haven't been able to successfully add a new named tab.

What should I do after I click the +? I watched your video of how you do it but that's not what happens with min after I click +

thanks

HI @Anonymous

I didn't see a screen capture or anything on your last post but after you hit the + it creates the next layout tab. Rt-click on it and you can move, copy, rename, etc.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Right, and that's how it used to be when I had 2012, but that's not what's happening with my 2017.

I don't get a new tab to write in. I get a dialogue box that disappears in 5 seconds and doesn't correspond to the tab anyway.

Very very frustrating. Did I get a lemon?

From the looks of it you have been able to rename the layout tabs. When I click the + it creates a new layout tab. Then I rt-click the tab and select rename. I apologize but ss there something that I am missing in your question? It looks like it is performing properly.

Typing in CUI allowed me to get the tabs back at the bottom. But then autocad immediately crashed, which is what was happening every 30 seconds with 2012, which is why I bought 2017. So I'm a little nervous now, but will see what happens when I open back up and start working.

fingers crossed

That statement concerns me. Did you completely uninstall 2012 according to the directions provided by Autodesk before installing 2017?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

No, it's not asking you to enter a new layout name, it's creating the layout with the default name. It's working as designed. Clicking the [+] simply creates a new layout. You can rename it later.     If you had taken the earlier suggestion of typing in the command LAYOUT, the the NEW option, then it would have let you name the layout right then as it's created.

Do yourself a favor and DOCK the command line and make it at least 3, if not 5 lines tall so you can see the feedback.

One line visible on a floating command line is not doing you any favors.
