Set scale to update with paperspace scale

Hi,

My boss has had a play with a template and got rid of the scale attribute on the border - it now references the DMS system instead of the DWG. I was wondering if someone could help me reset it back?

File attached.

Thanks in advance.

Did you check Units settings?

Hi zack,

I think the best way to fix this is by going into the Block Editor. Just type BEDIT in the command line, select your title block, and hit OK. Once inside, look for the scale attribute—either by using ATTDEF or just double-clicking on the scale text to check its properties. It’s likely pulling data from the DMS system instead of the drawing scale.

If that’s the case, double-click the scale text. If it’s showing something like DMS_SCALE, delete it and replace it with a dynamic field.

Right-click, go to Insert Field, and select Objects > Formula > Scale (or Annotation Scale, depending on your setup). If it’s a field pointing to DMS, you’ll want to change the field category to Plot Scale or Annotation Scale instead.

Once that’s done, close the Block Editor and save your changes. That should bring the scale attribute back to normal. Give it a try and let me know if anything still looks off!

Best,
Frank

FYI, I'm trying to follow your instructions but when I BEDIT Block Name: "REG" which is the Title Block with all the attributes, the ATTDEF R11 represents Scale but has no default value:

Then when I Right-click, go to Insert Field, and select Objects > Formula I don't see a Scale option:

The only place I find a Scale option is when I Right-click, go to Insert Field, and select Document > Scale

Try BATTMAN to update the ATTDEF in the title block.
