Set default Plotter

Greetings all,

This may be a silly question, but when sending a drawing to a client, how do you set the default plotter to be something else? I know you can set the default plotter to none if you use etransmit. Not sure if you can do this any other way.

Client wants all his drawings to be set as the following; "Default plotter set as "Default Windows System Printer"".

Never seen anything like that before.

Right-click on the Model tab (or Layout tab, as applicable) and click on "Page Setup Manager". Click "modify" and select the "Default Windows System Printer.pc3" option.

If you save the page setup in the template file you're using, that should do it.

so why is it I'm having to set the printer / plotter name every time I want to print.

I have this set as my default printer (SHOP 11X17) in windows.

AutoCAD PLOT parameters are saved in each tab of each DWG file independently of your system settings. 38+years so far, nothing has changed in 2020.

There is no such thing as a 'default printer' option in AutoCAD for all files you'll ever open unless you wish to customize a startup routine to go through and load up one of your preferred pagesetups.
