Is there any way I can make the drawing in paper space not appear on the model space? Thanks.

Hi,

you can use every drawing function to create geometry in paperspace, this items will not appear in modelspace.

But keep in mind that using _INSERT or _XREF to get the content of that drawing into another one will then look like empty as these functions only have access to the modelspace entities of the dwg-file to be inserted.

I think there's no way. You can control the things you want to view in your paper space but not in your model space.all the things that you can view in your paper space comes from your your model space..just a thought. 🙂

Hi alfred, thanks for the reply. What if it's a 2d drawing of my model as per below? Screen Shot 2017-10-21 at 6.37.39 PM.png

Hi,

The 3D model is created in modelspace, that is how it is to be used.

The 2D representation (in layout) of the 3D object can be created automatically in the layout either by using viewports or using command _VIEWBASE (>>>details<<<) ... and even more important: this 2D display has to be bound to the 3D object, changing the 3D model should automatically update the 2D representation. No need to draw that manually.

or

Don't deal with "representations" at all.  Simply annotate the model keeping the annotations in PS.
