Selection Cycling Shift+Space not working in 2016

Selection Cycling Shift+Space not working in 2016

I just noticed that I cannot get shift+space to work for selection cycling. I prefer this method over the selection cycling box just because it is habit. I do have SELECTIONPREVIEW=3 and LEGACYCTRLPICK=2 as mentioned in previous posts for 2015 and it still will not work. It works for me in 2015, but when I installed 2015 I used a menu migrated from 2013 (which I think was migrated every year back to 2007). When I loaded 2016 I figured it was time to start from scratch, so I suspect that may have something to do with it.

To anyone out there with a non-migrated install of 2016, is shift+space working for selection cycling? I'm wondering if there is something in the cui that was previously migrated and is no longer there, but I haven't found it yet.

Shift + Space works here in 2016 on both migrated and non-migrated machines, both within a command*, and with no command active.

(SELECTIONPREVIEW=3  LEGACYCTRLPICK=2)

Do you have a specific procedure you're doing, or doesn't it work at all?

*edit.  Shift + Space works within some commands.... there are instances where COMMANDPREVIEW interferes with Selection Cycling.

Thanks for mentioning that. It works with no command active but does not work in a command. What am I missing?

COMMANDPREVIEW  maybe?   (It also interferes with "some" Selection Cycling operations in 2015.)

Update...it works in a command also, unless that command is Erase. If I type in Erase first, it will not work, but it works with copy, move, etc.

Does yours work if you type in Erase first? Maybe it has something to do with the new funky way that erase visually makes the object fade out first...

COOMANDPREVIEW is on.

Same here.   I had never noticed it with ERASE command, but I have with FILLET, TRIM, EXTEND, etc.   If the result of a command are currently being displayed as a "preview", then Shift + Space won't cycle.

The Shift-Space method only cycles once through the objects? Then I have to put the cursors away from the objects and put it back, then I´m able to cycle through again.

I have run through every single variable, setting, etc. listed in all the posts for 2015 and 2016 and I have zero results.  I can't cycle through anything at all.  It only works periodically and when it breaks i jump to another session...if it doesn't work there i just work around it with some simple layer control and keep being productive.  When I try to cycle it won't even select anything.  It acts like my crosshairs and pickbox don't work or exist.  Very strange and extremely annoying.  I can get the other "visual" method to work but like the above poster my preference is to not slow down to have to pick something from a box. Just another one of those glitches to work around but any additional input would be great!

So in true AutoCAD fashion my cycling works great this morning. I am willing to be it will break by lunch but we shall see.

Anyone got this to work in an active command?  It's really annoying...

Resistance to change can bring about frustration. Sometimes you just have to accept and embrace new features. I was frustrated when selection cycling changed to Shift+Space. Never got used to that one. The new box is the bomb. Much easier, IMHO.

Personally I have no issues with selection cycling about 99% of the time. I have noticed that if I am using geo-referenced images from ArcMap selection cycling immediately stops working. If I happen to be working with a .tif, jpg., etc it will not let you cycle if you are doing working inside the extents of that images. If there are no images I have also seen wipeouts/raster act oddly as well. Whatever the issue is there, I agree it is ANNOYING!! Every time I close out of C3D and get back in it works fine though. Good luck!
