hello everyone,  I'm using autocad 2019 and selecting multiple xrefs using shift/ctrl doesn't work.

do you have a way to select multiple xrefs?

(classicxref command doesn't meet my requirements)

@Anonymous ,

Type QSELECT and make Object Type "External Reference"; then in  Operation, "Select All".

Hi,

You can more than one xref by selecting them directly .. also you can do that by QSELECT command

Select from where? you referred to CLASSICXREF, which is interesting. Explain.

In the meantime... what are PICKFIRST and PICKADD variables set to? Look them up in HELP, preferred settings are identified there and may solve your issue.

Cadpro78... you are right.

I hovered over one of the XREFs, the right clicked onto Quick Select ( Valentin-WSP tip ) and it automatically had External References as the default. Saved one step.

Always something else to learn in AutoCAD!!!

Thanks, JRR.

Thank you very much for the replies... but actually I meant selecting multiple xrefs in the external reference pallete.

The reason I need it is because I want to change multiple xrefs type to "overlay" instead of "attachment"

I am currently having the same issue where I can't select multiple xrefs in the external reference palette after recently switching to Civil3D 2023. Were you able to find a solution to this issue?

You can only select multiple if you are in the List View and not Tree View.  The toggle buttons are in the upper right of the palette or you can press F3 for list view and F4 for tree view.

@krheil No issue here in plain AutoCAD 2023 (topic of this forum):

Don't have C3D to confirm it, sorry: maybe try the C3D forum?

I don't think this issue is specific to C3D, but I did realize that I think it may have something to do with the fact that my xref palette looks completely different in list view than it used to before I switched to 2023. Mine used to look similar to the one above with the icon, reference, status, etc. and now it just shows the save path (see below snip).

The columns are hidden.  Hover the mouse at the left end of the column you have and you will see a black icon appear, then hold the left mouse button and drag to the right.  Repeat until you can see all columns.

Yes, thank you! I knew it had to be something dumb and stupid like that!
