Sections from 3D object created in Revit

First post in this forum and didn't want to start up a new topic so figure I ask my question here. I got a 3d shape from a client that I believe was created in Revit. I have the shape now in autocad but it doesn't let me use the section plane command. Can someone please let me know how to tackle this challenge. I'm looking to get horizontal sections as different elevations to produce shop drawings for our steel. Attached is the cad file with the shape.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I am looking at your model. It appears that this object (not sure of origin) is a series of polyfaces.

I used Smooth on them to convert them to meshes and then I used UNION to turn them into solids.

Now when I trey to create sections the feature appears to be working normally.

Please try these steps and post back with your results.

Thanks for the solution.

I just used the SMOOTH command and converted to meshes.

For my purpose that is all I needed.

I did the UNION command, but this would increase the size of the file and slow down autocad to a snails pace.

Your solution saved me a lot of time...thanks so much.
