SCRIPT (Commands)

Hi,

I'm struggling finding a page that contains AutoCad script commands and how to use them, something equivalent to this

https://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2017/ENU/?guid=__files_GUID_A35C74C5_1721_4B19_9FC4_E1CD656350...

I wonder if such a page exists for AutoCad?

There is no page because there is nothing like that included in AutoCAD..

You can use all none-dialogwindow commands in *.scr files,

that's all "normal" commands, so the whole Help[F1] is your Helper

http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2021/ENU/

or for programming: You have to choose your programming language first,

then take a look to the right source (again: In your help)

On the first help page (link above) you can find

Resources

Is there a workaround for dialogue box related entry for script files (other than creating a LISP)? I tried putting a space in the script to activate a return in a dialogue but it did not work (with Attdia at 0 - preset).

Yes, LISP is the way to go. However, I have a couple of part time operators that have Autocad LT (not my choice!!).

Scripts cannot deal with dialog boxes. Sorry, no magic automation workarounds for your LT users sadly.

Think of scripts and menu button macros (especially in LT) as what you can type and execute only from the commandline with no ability to use a mouse or keyboard arrow buttons at all.

BTW, there is a dedicated LT forum if you ever need LT specific help https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt/ct-p/2000
