Scaling text

I am drawing in 1:1 on model space, however when I create a viewport for my architectural blocks. The text are not scaling to the scale for which I need to viewport to be.

Is your viewport set to a plot scale by chance? Or not?
Are you actively and deliberately using Annotative Styles? That include text, dimensions, mleaders, blocks etc.

NOTE: Annotative Text (text scales up and down based on set viewport scale) is never automatically the default in any file if you've never checked and set it to be.

I am using an annotative text with a 3/32" height which I created. I am drawing in 1:1 with model space, however when I got to my viewport sheet I need it to be scaled at 1/2"-1'. However, my text is not scaling and showing up correctly in my viewport.

Any chance you can share a portion of your DWG with the problem present here for someone to look at?

My text are not staying the same size from my model to viewport. If I use a 3/32" text style for model space, the viewport is dimensioning the text also. I am having to scale my model space, instead of being able to draw in 1:1.

That's a big mistake.

Here's something that might help: -

  1. Create an annotative dimension style.
  2. When placing your annotative dimensions in Model, set the annotation scale on the status bar to the same scale you use in your scaled viewport in Layout.
  3. For example, if your viewport is set to (say) 1:10 in Layout, your annotation scale in Model should be set to 1:10 as well for annotative dimension placement.

If you are a LinkedIn Learning subscriber, try this course of mine, too. A deeper dive into dimensioning, dimension styles, and annotative scaling: -

You can reply to this post if you do need any further help.

All the best, SCB.
