Scaling Question - AutoCAD 2016

So my boss asked me to print something 1:1 so I set the scale in my viewport 1:1 and when I print and check measurements the smaller ones are off by an sixteenth and the bigger ones by an eighth.  He told me if you just click print and click window and click a box of what you'd like to print then it prints it 1:1.  I compared and seemed to work.  Any ideas why 1:1 doesn't actually print at actual desired measurement?  Does the printer play a part?  I mean I'm working in a drafting office.

Hey thanks for the help.  You suggested something about the plot settings so I checked on mine and I noticed I had it set at 'Fit to paper'.  I'm assuming that was part of it.  I unchecked it and can either put it 1:1 scale or in custom make 1 inch = 1 unit which I think is where the problem lied.  Let me know if the fitting to paper option plays a part in that thanks!

@john.vellek So being as fitting to paper in plot settings doesn't keep 1 inch to 1 unit then what does fitting to paper actually do?  Also in the photo below: Plot style table (pen assignments) 

Can you explain what this is?  I saw a co-worker set it to monochrome.ctb and was just curious why I'm setting it to that every time.

Hi @Anonymous,

Scaling to fit the paper size means that regardless of the scale the drawing is in, the plot will force it to fit the paper size selected. In this manner, for instance, you can plot a large site plan on a letter size piece of paper without having to manually calculate and sett a specific scale.

The CTB file that you show indicates that all the colors of the objects and layers on your display will be printed in black/white. This is helpful for producing PDF files and when printing to color printers but you only desire a monochrome print.
