scaling in one direction - block includes mtext

Hello,

I've created my block which includes plines, mtext, and circles. I've unchecked 'scale uniformly'.

I've placed the block and I am changing the scale on the x axis. When doing so, the mtext and circles become distorted/stretched.
Any suggestions on how to avoid distortion when scaling in one direction?

Thanks,

Donna

Depending on the complexity of those parts that you do want to be scaled in only one direction, you may be able to do it with a dynamic block that will let you stretch those parts while leaving the Circles and Text alone.  Or, a Block of only those parts that you can change the one scale factor of, and another Block of the parts you want undistorted.

@donna.logan  Since you are distorting the block, the circles and text inside the block distort too. There is no "exclude these" type option within blocks or with scaling. Sorry.

Have you explored creating a dynamic block? This will let you stretch some elements but not others, but it does require some effort to create.

Thanks so much, @pendean @Kent1Cooper for your replies. I knew it was a pipe dream.  But I know your replies will help someone with a similar issue in the future. Cheers!

If the text style used is based on a True Type font, then all text is distorted by default. Autodesk never got TTF's working correctly from the moment they entered AutoCAD.....
