Scaling in Autocad

Scaling in Autocad

Hi,

I have made a design A in autocad as shown in attached image in a rectangular box.

Now I want to modify the design A to suit in the box shown as Design B.

I don't want to redraw it but just want to modify it using scale option so that the Design A will be fit into Design B box.

I have used scaling options but not in this kind of a situation. Here in one direction my dimension is increasing and in another direction my dimension is reducing.

So is there a possibility to use scale command in which one direction will have to be scaled up and another direction to be scaled down?

Thanks in advance..

Rajiv.

No, not with the command _SCALE.

But you can create a block from Design A, then insert that block and for the block-insertion you can set it's Scale-X and Scale-Y independently.

Hi,

Since you have a very simple shape and to avoid any distortion issues i suggest to redraw new cases.

Dear Mr. forums2rajiv

I guess you can also use dynamic block facility were you can view your objects as per your requirements..

Hope this could help you out...

Alfred,

Worked as I expected.. But I think when I do the same thing with large scale ratio the shapes can be distorted which we can't avoid in any ways.

So when I have a large difference in the boxes it's always good to redraw.
