Scaling a Scanned Map in Autocad

Hi Folks

Just joined so my first post 🙂

Im working on a project for myself.. I have an 2 OS Maps at a scale of 1:1000 and 1:2500... I have scanned these, they are a4 and a3 in size respectively.... for the purposes of my site plan I need to trace around these to show neigbouring land/properties... for the life of me,I cannot get these maps at a 1:1 scale in autocad so they will match my metric setup (using mm)

Can anyone advise,I know using this method may not be perfectly accurate but it will suffice for the time being for planning purposes..

Any help appreciated

Ste

Draw a reference line on the scanned image, find a proper distance on the map and scale the line and the map, then check the distance of the line.

Thanks for the swift reply Patchy 🙂

There are no distances marked on the maps themselves...just at the bottom of it,the ''scale legend'' which goes from 0 up to 1000metres so I could take my scale ruler to that and it measures 1000m using 1:1000scale

Attach your map image here, let's find a reference point (Maybe)

I cant attach the image here patchy as its licenced by the mapping company that sells them... but here is a link to one that is identical to what I am using except the scale legend at the bottom of mine goes up to 1000meters instead of 100

here is the link,i just shortened it as it was quiet long..

The coordinates are at the corners of the map, kind of hard to see, but you must use them.

See the drawing attached below.
