scaling a drawing

i am having an issue with the scale at which a drawing is drawn. i have 2 drawings of the same device yet when i copy and paste one into the other the one i paste is 5 times biger than the other. both have the units set up as decimal/mm and yet every time this happens. then to add to that when i measure the object in mm it is right however when i change the units to arch/inches it gives me a mesurment of 11'-1 3/8" (mm=161). why is this and can i fix it?

thanks, shane searle

How did you change the unit? which command?

You should open each drawing, use command -DWGUNITS and choose 3 for mm

Reply to Yes or No when it prompts for scaling the drawing, if the distance is correct, reply No

Then try copy and paste again.
