scale problem

H I am trying to custom make a scale in a Viewport in AUTCAD 2018...

The scale should be 1:1200  but once I create it and apply the scale to the VP  it zooms in too much so I see nothing of the drawing in the VP -  but I am following a mock exam tutorial so its correct what I'm doing but it doesn't work..

I wonder if I should go and adjust the drawing Units via the drawing utility setup first....

Any help would be much appreciated

Kind regards

To get more information, to create this new scale you:

  • Went to scale list
  • added a new scale
  • named it 1:1200
  • kept paper units at 1
  • set drawing units to 1200

Now, you're saying that the VP zoomed too far in. Did you happen to set the paper units to 1200 and the drawing units to 1 instead of setting the paper units to 1 and drawing units to 1200?

If this didn't help or solve your issue can you attach the drawing so I can see how you set it up? You can strip out sensitive information if needed.

Hi,

please try this in your VP : Zoom >> Scale >> 0.083333   and see if it's work .

Command: Z ZOOM
Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP), or
[All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window/Object] <real time>: s
Enter a scale factor (nX or nXP): .0833333
