Hi,

>> the model i have the real scale 1.1700.000 map

Do I understand that correct that your model is not 1:1? If so then run command _SCALE (in modelspace), define a base point (the origin point used to scale) and then use the scalefactor 11700000 ... that should bring your model to have the correct (real) size in modelspace.

If my understanding is not correct that please show the data and explain it a bit more detailled.

You need to draw at 1:1 scale in AutoCAD: fix that first, then follow the instructions given to you in your other post here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017/scale/m-p/6407728#M131123

Otherwise just start PLOT command, select a 1:1 scale, window around your model, pick an A4 sheet, pray it will fit, and hope you never evern have to plot at any other scale ever again.

Hi tinigjeo,

The suggestions here are sound ones. It is always a good practice to draw your geometry at real scale 1:1.

So, if your model is not drawn this way, I suggest that you use Layer Property Manager to unlock, turn on, and thaw all your layers in your model. Then use SCALE and select ALL. You can apply your scale factor to get everything into real world dimensions.

Then you can use a layout in paperspace to create a viewport of your model. This allows you to zoom in or out to the appropriate scale.

If you need additional assistance or resources for any of these steps please update your post. If you want to attach your drawing, I can use it to make a video of the steps for you.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi @Anonymous,

  • I opened your file and first looked at paper space and saw that your units were set to inches which will not work easily as the map is in Kilometers.
  • -DWGUNITS was used to set your drawing units to meters.
  • Next, I measured a known distance (scale bar at 20 KM) and saw that it did not match the scale appropriately as everything in model space should be drawn at 1:1
  • I scaled your entire drawing up so that it measured 20000m.
  • Next, I selected layout 2 and started Page Setup Manager.
  • Created a new page setup that uses the AutoCAD PDF driver
  • I assigned the monochrome plot style, A4 paper in portrait mode, and scale is set to 1:1.
  • I assigned the page setup to the layout and stretched the viewport to approximately the location where it would fit inside the plot margins.
  • Next I entered modelspace by double clicking in the viewport. I then selected a Custom scale.
  • This zoomed the map to the appropriate scale as you requested.

I have prepared a Screencast video that displays these steps and also attached my copy of your file.

Please let me know if you have questions on any of these steps.

Here is a second video which shows the -DWGUNITS and SCALE by reference part of the steps in my previous post.

I apologize for the little hiccups in my video as I keept getting pinged by other activity on my second monitor - I think you will be able to grasp the steps though.

Hi tinigjeo,

The original scale of the map was not a standard size but most likely was scaled to fit something randomly.

So, in my video I showed the bar scale which is supposed to be inserted at 1:1 so I had to assume that it was when it was created. I drew a line from 0 to 20 km marks.

Then I drew a line that was truly 20 km in length. I used scale reference and selected the first length and indicated that I wanted it to be the length of the 20 km line I drew.

If you prefer to do this on a calculator that can be done too. take the 20000m and divide by the length of the 0-20km distance on the bar scale. This is the amount you have to scale up the entire drawing to in order to get it drawn at 1:1
