Saving Down

I have AutoCAD 2017 and I'm trying to open a 2018 file. I am unable to open the file because it was created in a later version. I know the file can be saved down once it is opened, but I can't do that without having 2018.

Is there a way to save the 2018 file down to 2017 without opening it?

HI @Anonymous,

While you are welcome to attach the file to a post so I can convert for you, I think a better and longer term solution might be to use DWG Trueview from here.

Hi @Anonymous,

Did you have any luck with DWG Trueview to convert down to the older (2013) file format? If not, please attach your file or email to me at john.vellek@autodesk.com and I can save it down for you.
