Saving a Workspace

I recently was upgraded to AutoCAD 2016. My workspace was migrated from my previous version but now any files that I load through CUILOAD do not remain loaded after I close and re-open AutoCAD. I have checked the workspace settings and "Automatically save workspace changes" is checked. Any idea why this is happening and how to correct it?
